To meet newly imposed regulations we must now more aggressively suspend accounts with invalid email addresses.
We already require new accounts to verify that their email address is correct and valid so this should affect very few people. If you have deleted your email account since signing up to this community forum or the Kee Vault service, you might need to take action to regain access to your account / subscription.
If you have a correctly functioning email address, this change won’t affect you so you don’t need to read further.
For community forum users, the behaviour may vary over time but it is likely that if you have an invalid email address your account will be suspended and eventually deleted.
For Kee Vault customers, you will need to reverify your email address every time we detect that it has become invalid. At that point, you will be able to change your account email address to a new address at which you can continue to receive emails, now and in the future - this must be done on an Android or iOS device using the Kee Vault app (version 2). Your subscription does not pause or cancel if your use of an invalid email address prevents your use of the service.
If you are unable to use the Kee Vault Android/iOS app to change your email address, you must immediately create a new Kee Vault account with a working email address and then export/import between your old account and new one. We are unable to assist with this operation and as mentioned above, any costs relating to this through overlapping or non-cancelled subscriptions are your responsibility.
No changes to our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy are required since we already explained that the use of a valid email address is a requirement but we wanted to share this update to confirm that we are now even more strictly enforcing this.
This change has already happened for our forum and Kee Vault beta service users (this is a small group that is not the same as those of you using the beta versions of the Kee Vault apps). We will begin enforcing this for all Kee Vault users in the coming weeks.
Unless forced to do so sooner, we will defer this until at least the 2nd October 2026. After we enable this change, recovery of your Kee Vault account and subscription when you have supplied an invalid email address will only be possible through the Kee Vault 2 (Android/iOS) app’s ability to change your email address. Export/Import across accounts will remain possible in the places one already uses Kee Vault 1, thus providing additional protection againt loss of access in the event of accidental email account deletion.
